Copper is a warm metal and is sweet-tasting, which can improve acceptance of the bit. The rollers can also help to prevent the horse from taking a hold on the bit or leaning. D ring cheeks are fixed and can aid with steering. Fixed cheeks stabilise the mouthpiece which can give green or uncertain horses more confidence to take the contact forwards.
